Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A special industrial hub for mechanical and electrical engineering will be created in Andijan region.

This decision was made in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to organize a special industrial zone “Special industrial hub for mechanical engineering and electrical engineering”.

The decision was made in order to further deepen reforms for the development of mechanical engineering and the electrical industry, full-fledged establishment of processes for the processing of local raw materials, production of import-substituting products that are competitive in export markets, create a favorable investment climate, as well as contribute to the implementation of high-tech and modern investment projects, the organization of new jobs and improving the well-being of the region's population.

According to the document, the hub will attract direct foreign and domestic investments for the production of high value-added mechanical engineering and electrical engineering products that are in demand in foreign markets and import-substituting products.

The hub will also provide a comprehensive and effective use of the production and resource potential of the machine building and electrical industry of the region.

Among the goals of the hub is to deepen the processes of localizing the production of high-tech products of the mechanical engineering and electrical industries based on local raw materials and materials by establishing strong cooperation ties, developing industrial cooperation between the participants of the special industrial zone and the whole republic.

The Industrial Hub has been operating for 30 years with the possibility of its subsequent extension. Throughout this time, special tax, customs and currency regimes will operate here, as in free economic zones.

On the territory of the Industrial Hub, projects are placed only in the field of mechanical engineering and the electrical industry, and their initiators are provided with the constructed buildings and structures for rent or, at their request, land areas - for permanent use.
