A special flight with medical equipment and products worth about US$1 million arrived in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to combat coronavirus infection, to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Uzbekistan, as part of international cooperation in combating the spread of coronavirus infection, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Seoul worked out the issue of attracting humanitarian aid from the Republic of Korea, Dunyo reported.

As a result, based on the needs of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, a humanitarian cargo weighing about 34 tons was formed.

In addition, in order to combat the spread of coronavirus in Uzbekistan, with the funds of US$250,000 allocated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, 20 thousand sets of Covid-19 PCR diagnostic test systems were purchased.

Today, on 26 April, the first part of the above humanitarian aid, including high-tech medical equipment, medical beds with an automatic mechanism and test PCR diagnostic systems with a total weight of 6.2 tons, was delivered to our country by a charter flight of Uzbekistan Airways NAC.

The valuable cargo brought includes 20 thousand sets of PCR diagnostic systems purchased at the expense of funds allocated by the Government of the Republic of Korea, as well as 50 multifunctional medical beds with an automatic mechanism provided by South Korean entrepreneurs, 4 thousand medical protective suits, 10 thousand pairs of medical gloves , 18.5 thousand units of medical masks, 25 thousand units of antiseptics for hands, 10 multifunctional monitors.

In addition, the humanitarian aid includes portable ultrasound equipment, cardiomonitors, syringe infusion pumps, and air purifiers. As is known, in cases of coronavirus infection there are cases of oxygen deficiency. In this regard, the medical equipment provided also includes pulse oximeters for measuring the amount of oxygen, as well as artificial smoke generators for disinfection, rapid tests for detecting coronavirus, and portable x-ray machines.

The humanitarian aid was formed with the support of the Government of the Republic of Korea, Shinhan University, South Korean companies Evergreen Motors, Shindong Resources, Hanshin E&C, Chung Hospital, Union Korea Pharm, BOMI E&C, GM Korea, UNICO Logistics, Century, Baraka Holding, Tashkent Trade Center, Hyundai Engineering, medical institutions, shopping centers, as well as companies operating in our country and others.

The delivered medical products and supplies will be used in our country in organizing quarantine measures, diagnosing and treating patients, and conducting rehabilitation measures. The rest of the humanitarian aid will be delivered to our country by the next cargo charter flight.
