Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Single Social Register is being introduced in Uzbekistan to establish a new, transparent and fair system of work with the needy segments of the population. This is provided by the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 4 August 2020.

By the end of 2020, this system will be gradually introduced in all regions.

Through the Single Social Register, social assistance will be issued on the basis of uniform criteria and documents.

Number of recipients of social benefits:

- currently 600 thousand;

- by the end of 2020 there will be 1 million 200 thousand;

- in 2021 it will be increased to 1 million 500 thousand.

- Starting from 1 January 2020, the procedure for obtaining the status of a low-income family will be simplified.

- Needy families will be provided with 30 types of social assistance and services in a convenient manner.
