Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- It is necessary to learn how to work in a pandemic, strictly observe the established quarantine rules, and not to repeat mistakes made in the past. Senators and deputies should also not stand aside in the implementation of such events.

Today, on 18 August, during the session of the Surkhandarya Regional Kengash of People’s Deputies, emphasis was placed on these aspects.

The Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva took part in the work of the session, which was held in the form of video conferencing.

During the videoconference held on 12 August under the chairmanship of the President and dedicated to the development of industry in the regions, expansion of production of competitive products, it was instructed to gradually mitigate quarantine requirements.

Thanks to the timely and decisive measures taken in our country to combat the coronavirus, it was possible to prevent the negative consequences of the pandemic.

Approximately 20 decrees and resolutions of the head of state were adopted, and at the videoconferences, special attention is paid to the protection of public health, ensuring full access to medical services, as well as the sustainable functioning of the economic and social spheres.

It was said at the session that, as representatives of the people, deputies and senators on their territory should carry out explanatory work among the population, express their views on the various problems that citizens face, and involve members of the Youth Parliament in this work.

In addition, it was noted that it is necessary to prevent problems associated with the history of inclusion of families in need of social protection in the "iron notebook", to strengthen parliamentary control in this regard, as well as to hear reports and information from the executive authorities.

The session also heard the report of the head of the health department of Surkhandarya region. It was noted that special attention was paid to such issues as the general situation with the coronavirus pandemic in the region, the state of the provision of medical services to the population during a pandemic, the observance of sanitary and hygienic rules by the population, strengthening work to maintain a stable epidemiological situation, carrying out disinfection work, stimulating medical workers and targeted use of the allocated funds.
