A scientific and industrial forum to be held in Almalyk with the participation of representatives of famous world companies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An international scientific-practical conference entitled “Modern Problems and Innovative Technologies for Solving Technological Deposits of Almalyk GMK” will be held on 18-19 April, the press service of the enterprise said in a statement.

It will discuss development prospects and global trends in the development of polymetallic and man-made deposits, the application of international experience in addressing issues of integrated processing of deposits, attracting their authors to the introduction of these innovations at the AGMK.

The International Scientific and Industrial Forum will be held with the participation of representatives of well-known world companies, as well as scientists and leading experts from the USA, Korea, Finland, Russia, Germany, France, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Norway and Uzbekistan.

The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine is one of the flagships of the domestic mining industry. Recently, the company celebrated the 70th anniversary of its foundation. Last year, the state share in AGMK was transferred in trust to a foreign company SFI Management Group, which opened a new page in the development of the plant.

Suffice to say that the program of modernization and reconstruction of all structural units of the AGMK until 2022 provides for investments in the amount of more than two billion dollars.

The plant is the only copper producer in Uzbekistan. The company produces refined copper, zinc metal, molybdenum, lead concentrate and other products. AGMK accounts for about 90% of silver production and 20% of gold in the republic.
