Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In order to support the people and army of Uzbekistan in the fight against an epidemic caused by a new type of coronavirus, on behalf of the Central Military Council of the CPC, a military aircraft with humanitarian aid on board, including a medical insulating dress, protective suit and goggles, infusion pump, etc. arrived in Tashkent on 13 May at the request of the Uzbek side.
Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jiang Yan, Defense Attache Senior Colonel Xu Changzhi and Head of the Medical Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan Colonel K. Eshkuvatov attended the transfer ceremony.
According to the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan, in an interview, the ambassador noted that after the outbreak of a new coronavirus infection, China and Uzbekistan are providing material and spiritual assistance to each other. Especially when the first case of infection was established in Uzbekistan in mid-March, the parties promoted anti-epidemic cooperation in all areas, from multiple videoconferences between medical specialists, the arrival of a group of Chinese consultants and physicians in Uzbekistan, and the provision of many humanitarian aid batches by the government, local authorities, enterprises and civil society.
Today, the military aircraft delivered humanitarian aid in the hope of helping the Uzbek military successfully complete the mission as soon as possible and achieve final victory on the front line of the fight against the epidemic. We are pleased to note that, under the leadership of President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan has achieved notable successes in confronting the pandemic, that life and production activities are returning to normal.
Anti-epidemic cooperation between the peoples of China and Uzbekistan fully embodies the quote of the famous Uzbek poet Navoi, "Live in friendship among yourself - there is no better destiny." These words are also written on the boxes of cargo. I hope that thanks to joint efforts and mutual assistance, we will be able to overcome the crisis with the epidemic as soon as possible.
Head of the Medical Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus Colonel Eshkuvatov K.R. noted that this is the first batch of humanitarian aid provided by foreign armies to the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, which fully demonstrated the high level of relations between the two countries and the armies and deep friendship between the peoples. The Uzbek side is heartily moved and grateful.
