A person who violates the quarantine rules may be sentenced to imprisonment for up to 10 years

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – According to the Law, criminal liability has been strengthened for violation of sanitary legislation or the rules for combating epidemics.

A person who violates the quarantine rules may be sentenced to imprisonment for up to 10 years

In particular, violation of sanitary legislation or the rules for combating epidemics, including failure to comply with the requirements of state sanitary inspection authorities regarding the occurrence and spread of quarantine and other infections dangerous to humans:

medical examination and treatment;

arriving at places designated for quarantine and not leaving these places in a specified period;

disclosure of information about persons who were in contact and places of visits during the period of risk of contracting the disease, as well as other legal requirements that created a real threat of mass disease or poisoning of people or entailed mass disease or poisoning of people, shall be punishable by deprivation of liberty for up to 5 years. (Previously, this period was up to 3 years)

The same act, which resulted in the death of a person, shall be punishable by imprisonment from 5 to 7 years, and if it entailed human casualties, then - by imprisonment from 7 to 10 years. (Previously, these dates were from 3 to 5 years and from 5 to 8 years, respectively)

The law comes into force on the day of its official publication
