A partial lunar eclipse to occur throughout Uzbekistan.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday (from 16th to 17th of July), a partial eclipse of the Moon will occur. It will be visible throughout Uzbekistan.

The essence of this event is that three celestial bodies - the Sun, the Earth and the Moon are on the same line and the Earth's shadow falls on the surface of the Moon.

The eclipse will begin at 01:01, Tashkent time throughout Uzbekistan, when the shadow of the Earth begins to cover the disk of the Moon. At 2:30, the maximum eclipse phase will begin, when 66% of the lunar surface is obscured by shadow.

Unlike solar eclipses, when parts of the solar disk are not visible, during a lunar eclipse, the moon remains visible throughout the eclipse. Only as the shadow moves toward the moon does it turn reddish brown.
