A new sugar plant to open in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belgium Dilyor Khakimov met with the general director of the Belgian company De Smet S.A. Engineers & Contractors (DSEC) Marc d’Udekem to discuss the prospects for the project to create a sugar factory in Uzbekistan.

According to the Dunyo news agency, the design capacity of the plant will be 500 tons of products. The cost of the project will be 110 million euros, of which 25 million euros will be contributed by the Uzbek side. A potential investor will invest the remaining amount.

The commissioning of sugar production will increase the food potential and create new jobs in the country.
