Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A working group consisting of employees of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Surkhandarya region, the khokimiyat of Baysun district and regional cadastral departments has begun preliminary work on the creation of a museum of Greek-Bactrian history.
The process is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 7 June 2022 No. 308 “On measures for the protection and rational use of the Uzundara archaeological site”.
First, the coordinates of the places allotted for the construction of the museum building were determined and mapped, then the project of the museum with an area of 21x14 meters was agreed upon.
Deputy Head of the Department for Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Surkhandarya region Zebuniso Alimardonova noted that, along with the museum in the tourist village of Sayrob, propaganda work is being carried out to improve the tourism infrastructure and introduce other types of services.
At the same time, the Cultural Heritage Agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage is preparing projects to determine the protected area of monuments, certification, restoration and conservation of objects.
