A multidisciplinary specialized medical center of the IV level to be built in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the practical implementation of the tasks set by the results of a telephone conversation held in April this year by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae In, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov and the Minister South Korea’s health and social welfare services by Pak Nynhu, reports Dunyo news agency.

At the beginning of the conversation, the Uzbek side expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of this country for their assistance in the fight against coronavirus. A. Shadmanov stressed that South Korea is a priority and strategic health partner for Uzbekistan and noted the high effectiveness of the measures taken by the South Korean side during the coronavirus pandemic.

Pak Nynhu expressed his support for the establishment in Tashkent of the National Children’s Medical Center, the official ceremony of which was held on 21 May with the participation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Minister also noted the interest and support of the Government of South Korea in the successful implementation of the project to create a modern multidisciplinary specialized medical center of the fourth level for the treatment of an adult population. The construction of this center is scheduled to begin at the end of this year.

These two facilities, along with a branch of the leading medical university of South Korea, will be part of the medical cluster in Tashkent. In this context, the ministers also exchanged views on the creation and organization of the work of the branch, the leading South Korean medical university in Uzbekistan.

Based on the results of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to expand the potential of the joint Uzbek-Korean center for cooperation in the field of health.

The ministers voiced their readiness to make every effort to further promote joint projects and introduce advanced South Korean experience in healthcare in Uzbekistan.
