A monument of gratitude to Uzbek people from Korean diaspora opened in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An opening ceremony of the memorial “Gratitude to the Uzbek people for warmth and kindness” from the Korean diaspora of Uzbekistan was held in the Seoul Park, located in the Friendship Park in Tashkent.

The memorial is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the deportation of the Korean people to the territory of Central Asia.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Tashkent city khokim Rakhmonbek Usmanov and Mayor of Seoul Park Won Soon.

The mayor of Seoul said that the monument will serve to further strengthen friendly relations between two countries. He also expressed gratitude to the people of Uzbekistan for their help and creation of worthy conditions for Koreans in the country.

At the event, songs about friendship and peace, traditions and values of two peoples, and national dances were performed.
