Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 7 February, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with senior state minister of trade, industry and national development of Singapore, Ko Po Koon, during which the current state of investment and trade and economic issues was discussed. cooperation between the two countries, as well as plans to strengthen it in the near future.

Relying on the success already achieved by Singapore companies in investing in agriculture, chemical, textile, preschool and school education, the parties voiced a common position on the prospects of further intensifying the attraction of Singaporean investments and technologies in the development of urban and tourism infrastructure, the construction of “smart cities ”, hotel complexes and recreational areas, the creation of modern pharmaceutical industries and chemical enterprises Mplexa.

Separately discussed measures to intensify financial and technical cooperation through the development of the Technical Cooperation Program "Capacity Building" through the National Fund of Singapore "TEMASEK" and the agency Singapore Cooperation Enterprise.

There is great potential in the initiative for close cooperation between the relevant ministries and departments of Uzbekistan and Singapore in studying the Singaporean experience in public administration, urban planning, education, healthcare, transport logistics and housing and communal services within the framework of the Singapore Cooperation Program (PCA), aimed at continuing education employees of state bodies of Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, an agreement was also reached on joint activities to bring business together in the person of chambers of commerce and business associations of Singapore - this will give an additional impetus to trade, economic and investment cooperation.
