A meeting of deputy foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 May 2020, a meeting of deputy foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation was held via videoconferencing.

The meeting was attended by deputy foreign ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Ilkhom Nematov, the Republic of Kazakhstan - Marat Syzdykov, the Kyrgyz Republic - Nuran Niyazaliev, the Russian Federation - Andrei Rudenko, the Republic of Tajikistan - Zohir Saidzoda, Turkmenistan - Vepa Hadzhiev.

The meeting participants considered the agenda of the upcoming III Ministerial meeting of the countries of Central Asia and Russia.

The Uzbek side informed about the events and programs implemented in the republic for the wide celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory over fascism.

The importance of continuing close coordination and interaction between the authorized departments of the parties in preventing the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, including targeted assistance to citizens located in the territories of the CIS countries, was emphasized.

An exchange of views took place on the current situation in Afghanistan, topical issues of regional cooperation, as well as interaction at the sites of international organizations.

The parties emphasized the need to continue active joint work to promote priority projects in the field of trade and economic cooperation, as well as in the transport and communications sector.
