A judo sports club founded by Olympic Champion Diyora Keldiyorova opens in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A grand opening ceremony was held at Secondary School No. 17 in Tashkent for a new judo sports club founded by Paris 2024 Olympic champion Diyora Keldiyorova.
The event was attended by representatives of the International Judo Federation (IJF), the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees of Uzbekistan, as well as the country's Judo Federation.
The newly established club will serve as a training center for young athletes, offering them the opportunity to learn from one of the world's top judokas. During the opening ceremony, officials emphasized that the creation of such a club marks an important milestone in the development of judo in Uzbekistan. They expressed their hope that within these walls, future champions would be nurtured, following in the footsteps of Diyora Keldiyorova’s success.
Diyora Keldiyorova, who has inspired many with her achievements, highlighted that the club’s main mission is not only to train athletes but also to instill in young people the core values of sports, such as discipline, respect, and the drive for victory.
The opening of the club marks a significant event for Uzbekistan's sports community and represents another step in promoting judo as one of the country’s leading sports.
