Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, together with the international charitable organization Friedensdorf International, a humanitarian campaign was carried out to support medical and social institutions of Uzbekistan in their fight against coronavirus, including in = Syrdarya region, suffered from a man-made disaster.
In particular, a humanitarian medical cargo with a total weight of over 2.8 tons arrived in the republic, consisting of surgical instruments, wheelchairs, medicines, various medical devices, supplies, materials and protective equipment. Delivery of cargo to Tashkent was carried out on 27 July by a charter flight of Uzbekistan Airways from Frankfurt am Main.
The humanitarian cargo was sent to the Soglom Avlod Uchun International Non-Governmental Charitable Foundation, which, in agreement with the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, will ensure its appropriate distribution.
At the same time, Friedensdorf International also sent special medicines intended for Uzbek children who received treatment in Germany as part of the latest charity event. The doctors of the German clinics, where the treatment was organized, prescribed medications for each child individually, which are necessary for the full restoration of health.
In an interview with the correspondent of IA Dunyo in Berlin, the coordinator of the humanitarian projects of Friedensdorf International, Claudia Peppmüller, on behalf of the organization, expressed her satisfaction that, despite the existing difficulties caused by the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, this humanitarian action was carried out:
- Currently, due to the spread of coronavirus, the whole world is in a tense state, and the situation in many countries remains quite difficult. This problem also affected Uzbekistan, where, moreover, there was a disaster associated with the destruction of a reservoir dam, which left many homeless and exacerbated the already difficult problems caused by the virus pandemic.h
We feel solidarity with the Uzbek people, and therefore decided to send a humanitarian aid to our partner, the Soglom Avlod Uchun Foundation, to help people in need. Everyone knows that now, due to the lack of air communication, it is not easy to fly from one country to another. Therefore, we are extremely proud that, together with the Embassy of Uzbekistan and our other partners, we were able to collect and send this humanitarian cargo to Uzbekistan at this difficult moment.
