A Gentra Car Veered into Oncoming Traffic and Knocked Down a Traffic Light In Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A serious traffic accident occurred Saturday evening in central Tashkent on Nukus Street.

A black Gentra car veered into the oncoming lane, sustaining significant damage and knocking down a traffic light.

According to the Traffic Safety Department of the city police, the vehicle was driven by 19-year-old A. O. At the intersection with Glinka Street, the Gentra collided with a Nexia 3 traveling in the same direction.

After the impact, the Gentra flew over a concrete divider and struck a Cobalt car that was stationary at the intersection.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene provided first aid to the Gentra driver.

Preliminary investigations indicate that excessive speed was the main cause of the accident. The Traffic Safety Department noted that speeding is regularly recorded on this stretch of the street.
