Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 3-6 March 2020, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Justice Ruslanbek Davletov will visit the Netherlands to attend a meeting of the Council for General Affairs and Politics of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) in The Hague.
According to the information of the Embassy of our country in Benelux, the delegation also includes representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tashkent State Law University, as well as the Office of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan.
The main purpose of the visit is to complete the procedure for Uzbekistan joining the Hague Conference.
HCCH was established in 1893 and is an intergovernmental organization whose goal is to promote the gradual unification of international private law. Currently, 82 countries of the world, as well as the European Union, are members of the organization.
Uzbekistan’s membership in the Hague Conference will ensure the country’s participation in the unification of international family and private law, further development of the legal system, taking into account world standards, increasing the effectiveness of protecting the rights and interests of citizens of the state abroad. Our country will be able to participate in determining the work program of the Hague Conference by joining its Council, take part in negotiations on new conventions that are under consideration by the Hague Conference and promote its interests in the international arena.
Based on the results of participation in the work of the Council on General Issues and Policy of HCCH, it is planned to sign a Cooperation Agreement between the Tashkent State Law University and the Hague Conference on Private International Law
Within the framework of the delegation’s visit, it is also planned to hold meetings in the ministries of justice and security, internal affairs and royal relations of the Netherlands, the Royal Dutch Association of Civil Law Notaries, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, the International Organization for Development Law, the Permanent Court of Arbitration and other structures.
