Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 October 2019, as part of their stay in Prague, a delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Dilshod Akhatov met with Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies (lower house) of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Voitik Filip.
During the meeting, issues of further strengthening inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries were discussed.
The Czech side positively assessed the large-scale transformations being carried out in Uzbekistan, in particular, measures to increase the role of parliament and political parties in the country's social and political life.
Considering the upcoming regular elections to the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan in December of this year, the willingness of the Czech side to provide practical support to measures in this direction by exchanging experience in parliamentarism was noted.
