Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 February 2020, in Warsaw, the Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan N. Khusanov met with the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Poland M. Malag.
As part of the negotiations, M. Malag provided information on the demographic situation, the level of employment, the country’s development indicators, the tendency to reduce unemployment and the emerging social programs for citizens.
The Uzbek side presented the labor potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the demographic trends of the republic, the current state of the labor market, and the opportunities available for training qualified specialists in working professions.
Also, N. Khusanov proposed the signing of an Intergovernmental Agreement to introduce an organized labor migration system by including the Republic of Uzbekistan in the list of states that have simplified access to the Polish labor market in order to prevent illegal labor migration of Uzbek citizens to the Republic of Poland.
In turn, M. Malag noted that the Government of Poland is considering with particular interest the issue of attracting qualified foreign workers, including from Uzbekistan, and also reported that the Parliament is currently discussing a draft law on regulation of migration policy and emphasized the timeliness of this meeting.
During the meeting, the Polish side noted that the proposals of the Uzbek side will serve as the basis for the introduction of an organized labor migration system.
It is worth noting that this issue was discussed for the first time between the Republics of Uzbekistan and Poland.
