Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Bellegprom State Concern headed by Chairman of the Concern Tatyana Lugina is paying visit to Uzbekistan from 26-30 January 2020.

The visit of representatives of the textile industry of the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan was organized with the assistance of the Uztekstilprom Association. This is the second visit of the head of the concern to Uzbekistan in the last 4 months. In September 2019, Tatyana Lugina presented the Belarusian textile industry at the International Textile Conference as part of the Global Textile days Tashkent 2019.

The Belarusian delegation included representatives of Bellegprom concern, heads of MPKO OJSC, Kalinka CJSC, Mogotex OJSC, BPHO OJSC, Svitanak OJSC, Kupalinka OJSC, and March 8 OJSC.

In recent years, the Uzbek-Belarusian relations have intensified significantly, an important basis for which are regular contacts between the leaders of the two countries. Promising areas of cooperation were identified during the summits in Tashkent and Minsk, as well as in the framework of various international summits.

The basis for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the textile industry was the Memorandum of Understanding, signed between the Uztekstilprom Association and Bellegprom Concern in September 2019.

According to the program of the visit, the delegation intends to negotiate with the leadership of the Uztekstilprom Association, the Uzcharmsanoat Association, visit a number of enterprises and company branch stores, get acquainted with the activities of Kor-Uz Textile Technopark.

So, during a meeting with the chairman of the Association "Uztekstilprom" on 28 January, the parties discussed issues of expanding mutual cooperation. It was noted that there was an untapped potential for deepening cooperation, in particular, the Belarusian side presented the following proposals:

- purchase of yarn for the needs of enterprises of the Bellegprom concern;

- expansion of industrial cooperation, intersectoral relations for the mutual supply of raw materials, materials, semi-finished products and finished products;

- the possibility of opening branded and multi-brand stores of enterprises of the Bellegprom concern in Uzbekistan.

According to the results of 2019, the amount of textile exports to the Republic of Belarus was US$24 million.
