A concept of privatization of Talimarjan TPP discussed

0Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Negotiations were held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade on 30 June with the participation of the leadership of the UAE company Mubadala Utilities, representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Ministry of Energy.

On the agenda was the issue of privatization of Talimarjan Thermal Power Plant in the framework of the implementation of the agreement reached in March 2019 during the visit at the highest level in the UAE.

During the meeting, the concept of privatization and capacity expansion of the power plant was presented, and financial mechanisms for the implementation of the transaction and drafts of relevant legal agreements were worked out.

The concept was developed on the basis of information obtained during the delegation’s previous working visit to Talimarjan Thermal Power Plant with the aim of a detailed study of the operating activities and technical parameters of the power plant.

Following the talks, the parties came to an understanding on the key issues of further cooperation.

By the end of 2019, it is planned to sign an investment agreement.
