Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A government resolution “On measures to further develop the system of compulsory one-year preparation of children for primary education” was adopted.
In accordance with the resolution, starting from the 2019/2020 academic year in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, a system of mandatory one-year preparation of children for primary education is fully implemented.
The main tasks of the Ministry of Preschool Education in this area are determined. In particular, the ministry forms preparatory groups for children not covered by preschool education.
For preparatory groups, the school year:
- in the 2019/2020 academic year, it starts on 10 March 2020 and ends on 20 August;
- starting from the 2020/2021 academic year, begins annually on 2 September and ends on 25 May of the following year.
Pupils of preparatory groups created at kindergartens and beyond, are considered to have completed training for primary education and are exempted from compulsory one-year education.
At the same time, children who have been trained in these institutions are given a state certificate of one-year training for primary education.
The resolution approved target indicators for enrollment of children in compulsory preschool education in 2020–2025. According to this, by the academic year 2024/2025, 6-year-old children will be enrolled in pre-school education by 100 percent.
Also, the resolution approved the Regulation on the organization of activities of groups of mandatory one-year preparation of children for primary education.
According to this, preparatory groups are created in kindergartens (in the absence of a kindergarten or in the absence of conditions, in other suitable buildings).
The time spent by children in groups is 3-4 hours, and the educational process is organized in one or two shifts, the number of children in one group should not exceed 30 people.
