A Ceremonial Event Dedicated to the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the Upcoming New Year was Held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The festive gathering took place at the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijani Cultural Center under the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Uzbekistan and was held under the motto “Culture is our strength, solidarity is our unity.”
The event brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, state and public institutions, cultural and artistic figures, media representatives, as well as members of the Azerbaijani diaspora and compatriots residing in Uzbekistan.
The official part of the program opened with the national anthems of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Huseyn Guliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, delivered the welcoming address.
He congratulated attendees on the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the upcoming New Year, stressing the importance of humanitarian and cultural initiatives in strengthening mutual understanding between peoples.
The ambassador noted that the idea of Azerbaijanism, laid down by the National Leader, is today being consistently implemented by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and that the Azerbaijani diaspora in Uzbekistan is an integral part of national solidarity.
In his remarks, Akif Marifli, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijani Cultural Center, stated that the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis symbolizes the unity and cohesion of the nation.
He emphasized that thanks to the efforts of the leadership of both countries, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, built on mutual respect and trust, has reached the level of allied partnership, creating a solid foundation for the further expansion of humanitarian and cultural ties.
The concert program featured performances by renowned Azerbaijani khanende Ravan Gachayev and young singer Ulkar Abdullayeva, who presented works dedicated to the Motherland, national identity, friendship and solidarity.
Theatrical art was presented by the “Khary Bulbul” troupe of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijani Cultural Center, which showcased excerpts from classical works of Azerbaijani drama and musical theatre, as well as traditional folk songs.
The choreographic segment of the program was enriched by performances of the “Karabakh Zafarī” dance ensemble. The national dances reflected the historical memory, national pride and spirit of unity of the Azerbaijani people.
The event concluded with an award ceremony honoring creative groups and public activists who have made significant contributions to the promotion of Azerbaijani culture in Uzbekistan. Achievements in theater, national dance, visual arts, as well as television and media were highlighted.
The celebration ended with warm New Year greetings and expressions of confidence in the continued successful development of cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
