Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum on opening a branch of the University of Economics and Technology of Turkey under the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Trade of Turkey in Tashkent.
During the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkey, on 19 February, the first meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Council for Strategic Cooperation of the highest level was held in Ankara, following which a joint statement was signed.
It is worth noting that Turkey is one of the leading trading partners of our country. In recent years, as a result of a favorable investment and business climate, Turkish entrepreneurs have further expanded their activities in Uzbekistan. In particular, the turnover between the two countries in 2019 exceeded US$2.5 billion.
Also at the meeting, a number of agreements on trade and economic relations between the two countries were signed. In particular, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum on the opening of the Tashkent branch of the University of Economics and Technology of Turkey under the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey “TOBB”.
The initiative to open a branch of the University of Economics and Technology of Turkey was put forward by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan during the negotiations of the Business Council of the Turkic-speaking states in October 2019 in Tashkent.
The branch of the university, which is planned to open in the capital, will train specialists in the field of business and entrepreneurship based on the dual education system.
