A 48-day leave is provided for scientists

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Law “On Science and Scientific Activity”.

In accordance with the Law, one of the main areas of science and research is to achieve competitiveness and efficiency of the national economy through the development of science and research.

The law defines the powers of a number of organizations in the field of science and scientific activity.

In particular, the Ministry of Innovative Development is an authorized state body in the field of science and scientific activity and coordinates the activities of relevant organizations on the development of the sphere.

In addition, in accordance with the Law, the involvement of young people in science and research is carried out through appropriate measures to identify, select, and educate talents in an educational organization.

Persons carrying out scientific activities are required to:

- do not harm human life and health, the environment;

- not to allow plagiarism, misappropriation of other people's scientific developments, not to rely on false information;

- comply with intellectual property rights and the rules of scientific ethical standards.

In accordance with the Law, persons carrying out scientific activities in state scientific organizations are granted annual paid leave of 48 working days, providing for material assistance.

This Law shall enter into force on the day of its official publication.

The rules of the Law providing for labor leave for persons engaged in scientific activities come into force on 1 January 2020.
