Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 March, a resident of the city of Chirchik, Tashkent region, was taken to a regional infectious diseases hospital in critical condition. Then he was provided with all the necessary medical care.

On 31 March, the patient was transferred to the clinic of the Republican Research Institute of Epidemiology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases for specialized medical care. Timely laboratory tests confirmed that he had a coronavirus infection.

A 40-year-old man, when admitted to the intensive care unit, was connected to a ventilator. Leading specialists of the country under the supervision of a doctor of medical sciences, professor A. Hadjibaev, chief pulmonologist of the Ministry of Health, professor I. Liverko, leading resuscitators of the Russian Center for Emergency Situations D. Sobirova and H. Sattarova advised the patient on a daily basis via video conferencing. In addition, in accordance with world standards of treatment, antiviral, antibacterial, infusion, mucolytic, symptomatic and respiratory therapy were carried out.

However, despite the ongoing intensive care, the patient’s condition in dynamics last night sharply worsened. Repeatedly during a short period, consultations were held and necessary recommendations were given from specialists: resuscitators, cardiologists and a thoracic surgeon (Sh. Khudoybergenov). Despite the resuscitation measures taken, taking into account the concomitant pathology and severity of the patient’s condition, cardiac arrest was associated with acute cardiopulmonary failure.
