30th Anniversary Tashkent International Tourism Fair Opens in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 November, the international exhibition center CAEx hosted the grand opening ceremony of the 30th Tashkent International Tourism Fair (TMTF-2025) under the theme “Tourism on the Silk Road.” The event was organized by the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National PR Center, and Interforum State Unitary Enterprise.
Traditionally held at the Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan, TMTF has been the region’s largest tourism event for three decades. The fair promotes tourism products, fosters business contacts, and facilitates the implementation of international projects. The event is held with the official support of UN Tourism.
The opening ceremony was attended by Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan; Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia; Nurtas Karipbaev, Chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee of Kazakhstan; Jamshid Jumakhonzoda, Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee under the Government of Tajikistan; the newly elected Secretary-General of UN Tourism, Sheikha Nasser Al Nowais (via video message); as well as representatives from international organizations, the private sector, and the media.
On the first day, two expert sessions were held: “Cultural Heritage and Tourism: Traditions into the Future” and “Innovative Routes and New Travel Experiences.” Private tourism projects were also showcased to participants.
The TMTF-2025 program features a large-scale tourism exhibition with participation from over 300 companies from various countries, an international culinary championship with more than 200 chefs from 30 countries, an interactive “Media Campus” for journalists and bloggers, and a series of thematic forums and sessions covering aviation, education, environmental issues, and pilgrimage tourism.
B2B meetings, roundtables, and presentations of tourism services and handicrafts are also part of the program.
Up to 15,000 visitors from Uzbekistan, the CIS, Asia, and Europe are expected to attend. Participants will have the opportunity to explore new travel destinations, national cultures, and traditions, as well as learn about the tourism potential of all regions of Uzbekistan.
Recent reforms in the tourism sector have contributed to the growth of inbound and outbound tourism, expanded the range of services offered, and attracted international companies and investors to the country.
