Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 6 December 2025, the ability to pay for electricity has been temporarily restricted for 204,800 subscribers in Uzbekistan who have not settled their debts for solid household waste collection services. During this period, 9.4 billion soums was paid. According to the agency, the current total debt stands at 18.2 billion soums. Restrictions on electricity payments will be lifted automatically once the debt is fully settled.
The agency clarified that these measures do not apply to debts incurred before June 30, 2025. The new procedure covers debts accumulated from 1 July 2025, and has been in effect since November 5. Consumers are required to make monthly payments for waste collection services no later than the 5th of each month.
Payments and subscriber accounting are carried out through the Toza makon billing system, electronic payment systems, and, in exceptional cases for remote settlements without internet access, through bank cash desks and branches of “Uzbekiston Pochtasi.”
Starting 1 from January 2026, payments for services by individuals and legal entities will be conducted exclusively online via electronic payment systems. Residents of remote areas without internet access will retain the option to pay through bank cash desks and “Uzbekiston Pochtasi” branches.
