Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 May 2020, the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan in Russia launched the Mehr initiative to pay one-time financial assistance to citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, who found themselves in a difficult situation due to the introduction of quarantine and restrictive measures due to COVID-19 pandemics.
This week, the first recipients of financial assistance in the total amount of 1 million 220 thousand 960 rubles were 202 citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan located in Russia.
Among them:
- 190 students studying in full-time departments of Russian higher educational institutions;
- 8 compatriots who have confirmed coronavirus infection COVID-19;
- 2 citizens with disabilities;
- 1 citizen with dependent children under 2 years old;
- 1 pregnant woman with a gestational age of more than 7 months.
Assistance was provided in the form of a lump sum payment of money to the applicants’ bank plastic cards.
Thus, the Mehr campaign began its first steps and, soon, we will report on new results in the financial support of compatriots in Russia.
