20 University Applicants Hospitalized with Suspected Poisoning in Bukhara Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 January, reports surfaced on social media regarding the hospitalization of a group of students in Bukhara Region with suspected poisoning.

The situation was clarified by the regional Department of Health.

According to the authorities, the incident occurred at the Ilm Nuri educational center, located on Ulugbek Street in the Khojalar neighborhood of Karakul District.

Twenty university applicants exhibited symptoms of poisoning from an unknown substance. Following the alert, all affected individuals were promptly transported to the district medical complex, where they received necessary medical care.

The Department of Health reported that the condition of all patients improved, and they were subsequently discharged for outpatient treatment. Each patient has been assigned a local family doctor and a community nurse for follow-up care.

At present, the health status of the affected students is considered satisfactory, and no complaints have been reported.

The cause of the incident is under investigation. Additional information will be provided upon completion of the relevant examination.
