14 Documents to Boost Uzbekistan–Finland Cooperation Signed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 31 October, the Uzbekistan–Finland Business Forum took place in Tashkent, organized by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Finland East Chamber of Commerce (EastCham Finland).
The event brought together representatives from over 100 companies of both countries, along with senior officials including President of Finland Alexander Stubb, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, and Deputy Minister of Investment Shokhrukh Ghulamov.
The forum served as a key platform for discussing opportunities to expand trade, economic, investment, and industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Finland.
Special attention was given to the positive dynamics of bilateral relations — over the past seven years, mutual trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Finland has increased more than fivefold. The signing of the Enhanced Partnership Agreement with the European Union was noted as an additional catalyst for strengthening Uzbekistan–Finland cooperation within the broader European market.
As a result of the forum, 14 documents were signed, covering a wide range of sectors including agro-industrial production and food processing, mining and geology, energy, pharmaceuticals, construction, tourism, ecology, waste management, and innovative technologies.
These agreements establish a solid foundation for launching joint investment and technological projects, aimed at reinforcing long-term economic partnership and fostering the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Finland.
