12 European Films to Be Screened in Uzbekistan at the Anniversary EU Film Festival
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the embassies of EU member states and the Agency for Cinematography under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has announced the 10th anniversary edition of the European Film Festival in Uzbekistan.
The official opening ceremony will take place on 6 November 2025 at the Alisher Navoi Palace of Cinematic Art (Panorama) in Tashkent. Marking a decade of cultural dialogue between the European Union and Uzbekistan, the jubilee festival will showcase 12 acclaimed films from Austria, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia, and Sweden. The selection highlights the diversity of European artistic expression, its rich cultural heritage, and shared humanistic values.
The festival will open with “Flow”, an internationally award-winning animated feature by Latvian director Gints Zilbalodis. Screenings will be held in Tashkent from 7 to 9 November, and in Termez on 12 November.
In addition to film screenings, the festival program includes creative workshops, performances by dance ensembles, and short film showcases by emerging directors.
All films will be presented in their original languages with Uzbek and/or Russian subtitles. Admission is free for all screenings.
