Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Pohang Steelers will have to do without key defender Kim Hyung-il for their AFC Champions League quarter-finals second leg against Bunyodkor on September 30.
The Koreans lost the opening leg last Wednesday to Bunyodkor 3-1 at the JAR Stadium.
Kim was yellow carded twice (55, 67) and sent off by Saudi referee Khalil Al Ghamdi, leaving Pohang to play the rest of the match with 10 men.
The score at this point was 1-1 after No Byung-jun’s eighth minute opener was cancelled out by Victor Karpenko in the 30th minute. Server Djeparov later ensured the hosts’ victory with a brace in the 79th and 86th minutes.
The second leg takes place at the Pohang Steelyard.
