Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 November 2020 in the format of videoconference with the participation of more than 30 specialists from the German Energy Agency (DENA), the German consulting company Berlin Economics, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Berlin, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic Uzbekistan, JSC "National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan" and CDC "Energia" held a webinar devoted to studying the experience of Germany in the development of renewable energy sources and their integration into the energy infrastructure.
Studying the positive experience of Germany in the development of renewable energy sources and electric energy storage is important for the further stabilization of the electric power industry in Uzbekistan, since Germany is the largest producer of electric energy in the EU with a specific share of 18.7% and a total generation of 605 billion kWh at the end of 2019.
It should be noted that for the period 1990-2019 in Germany, the share of renewable energy sources in total electricity consumption increased from 3.4% (18.9 billion kWh) to 42.1% (244.3 billion kWh), and the total capacity of renewable energy facilities increased from 4.2 to 124.4 GW, including wind power plants of 60.8 GW and solar PV power plants of 49 GW.
Currently, in Germany, the number of solar PVPs has exceeded 1.7 million units with a total installed capacity of 52.7 GW, and more than 1.1 million German households have their own small solar PV plants with a capacity of less than 10 kW and more than 250 thousand with electric energy storage systems. ...
It is noteworthy that despite the current situation with COVID-19 in Germany, 3.5 GW of solar and 1.2 GW of wind power plants were commissioned in the current year.
In October 2019, the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany approved a climate protection program, which determines an increase in the share of renewable energy sources in electricity consumption up to 65%, i.e. to the level of 377 billion kWh.
To achieve these target parameters by 2030, it is envisaged to increase the total capacity of renewable energy facilities to 203 GW, including solar PV power plants up to 98 GW and wind farms up to 91 GW.
Taking into account the above, the webinar participants confirmed the advisability of further consultations.
