Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Speeches by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the first meetings of the Legislative Chamber and Senate of the Oliy Majlis, a joint meeting of both houses of the country’s parliament aroused great interest among representatives of socio-political, business, academic circles and the expert community of foreign countries, Dunyo reported.
The President of the Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSI) of Pakistan, former IRP Ambassador to Bosnia H. Jaffrey praised the outcome of the parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan, in which he participated as an international observer from Pakistan. In this regard, he is watching with great interest the final processes for the formation of a renewed parliament and government in Uzbekistan, which will become a new historical stage in the further development of the republic.
According to the head of the Center for Contemporary Art, the initiatives of the Uzbek leader to increase the efficiency of the new legislative and executive body, as well as the effectiveness of their work with the electorate, once again testifies that he is a reformer of a new format.
According to the expert, Uzbekistan is developing rapidly, turning into the center of regional economic policy and democratic transformations. Consequently, the country is expanding fundamental legal principles and gender equality in all sectors of the life of the state, including in the country’s parliament. At the same time, multifunctional relations of the Republic with the outside world, as well as between parliaments of foreign states, are being activated.
Touching upon the issues raised by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the field of socio-economic development of the country, he drew attention to urgent tasks for the further development of the areas of horticulture and livestock as a locomotive of agriculture in Uzbekistan. “Indeed, in the 21st century, food security issues play a key role in the social, political and economic stability of every nation. Accordingly, Uzbekistan, being the state with the most developed agro-industrial complex in the region, including as a result of colossal large-scale reforms of the head of state, can become a regional food center. ”
As an example, H. Jaffrey said that over the past two years, Pakistan’s imports of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan has increased three-fold (more than US$80 million). This, in turn, demonstrates the effectiveness of reforms in agriculture in Uzbekistan, and the huge potential for Pakistani-Uzbek relations in this area.
In general, according to the estimates of the director of the Center for Contemporary Arts, the President of Uzbekistan has recently done a great job of reforming all sectors of the country’s life, increased political activity in society, and public confidence in the parliament and government is growing, which is the guarantor of the stable development of the republic.
Statements by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev were published on the news portals “Diplomatic News Agency” and “Islamabad Post”.
