Uzbek envoy meets officials of Sabah state of Malaysia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 July 2019, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov met with the Chief Minister of Sabah State Government Shafie Apdal, in Kota Kinabalu.
Prospects for deepening bilateral trade-economic and investment cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
Chief Minister of the State Government Shafie Apdal emphasized that it is thanks to the efforts of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, his wise, balanced foreign and domestic policy that Uzbekistan successfully develops a diversified economy, becoming increasingly attractive for foreign investors and a reliable partner for cooperation.
Noting the huge potential of the two countries, he noted the need for intensifying trade relations and investment cooperation in leading industries. The rich resource potential and stable economic development of Uzbekistan, as well as the policy pursued in the country aimed at modernizing and diversifying the industrial sector, opens up new opportunities for Malaysian companies to conduct mutually beneficial business. He also noted that the free economic zones created in Uzbekistan can become especially attractive for Malaysian investors.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on participation of artisans from the state of Sabah in the upcoming International Handicrafters Festival in Kokand.
