Uzbekneftegaz, Japan discuss development of relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz Ulugbek Sayidov held talks with Advisor to the Japanese Embassy in Uzbekistan Atsushi Souda, the press service of the company said.
It was noted that relations between two countries are consistently developing in many areas, including in the oil and gas sector. In particular, Uzbekneftegaz established cooperation with Mitsui Group, Mitsubishi Corporation, Marubeni Corporation and other leading companies in the country of Japan. Regular visits of delegations, ongoing dialogue and exchange of views between the parties allow to identify new facets of a mutually beneficial partnership.
According to Ulugbek Sayidov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz, today among the priorities is deepening of investment cooperation. The intensification of work with the Japanese Embassy in Uzbekistan will allow attracting Japanese investors for the joint implementation of promising investment projects.
In turn, Advisor to the Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan Atsushi Souda expressed interest in the ongoing reforms in the fuel and energy sector of the country. During the dialogue, the establishment of the Ministry of Energy was noted and information was provided on the planned changes in the oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue and to identify priority areas for cooperation with investors and leading companies in Japan.
