Pilot project “Ilgor Hudud” to be implemented in Jizzak region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will launch a pilot project “Ilgor Hudud” (“Advanced Region”). Implementation of the project will begin in Jizzakh region on 1 March 2019.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On development of an effective model of state regulation and management of the integrated development of Jizzakh region”.
Within the project it is planned to implement measures to improve the regulatory framework, analysis and evaluation of the sphere of public administration and regulation.
Advanced solutions will be identified for accelerated development of Jizzakh region and the areas of responsibility of republican and territorial executive authorities will be specified.
Mechanisms will also be developed to form the region’s strategic goals, as well as targets for regional governments.
Structural reforms will be implemented in the region to improve the investment climate and living conditions and increase incomes of the region’s population.
In Jizzakh region, new industries will be developed and conditions will be created to increase the competitiveness of products and services produced in the region.
The National Project Management Agency (NAPU) under the President of Uzbekistan will prepare and implement the project.
The Agency received the right to cooperate with international financial institutions, foreign government financial organizations and other foreign organizations in the framework of the implementation of measures for the socio-economic development of the region.
The head of Uzbekistan instructed to form an Expert-Analytical Council and develop a plan for the planning of the territory of Jizzakh region. A concept of development of the Jizzakh region will be developed.
