Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzbek-South Korean business forum was held in Seoul. The Uzbek Embassy in the Republic of Korea jointly with UzKorEconomy Media Group organized the event, Jahon news agency reported.
Over 100 businessmen from Seoul, industrial cities of Busan, Daegu and Gwangju, including representatives of Korean business, already active in Uzbekistan, took part in the event.
During the event, the export and investment potential of Uzbekistan, detailed information on economic reforms and improvement of legislation in the field of business and investment were presented. Information on legislative protection of rights and interests of investors and business entities was also presented.
The participants showed great interest in the decisions of the leadership of Uzbekistan on liberalization of the foreign exchange market and export-import operations, as well as the free economic and small industrial zones created in the country with attractive working conditions with foreign partners.
Representatives of South Korean companies that are already working in Uzbekistan spoke about their efficiency and fruitful cooperation with their Uzbek counterparts, availability of a rich mineral resource base and highly qualified personnel, which in general creates the necessary conditions for setting up production of competitive products. It was emphasized that the developed infrastructure of Uzbekistan provides convenient logistics for entering the markets of foreign countries.
Within the framework of the business forum, a video film "Investment and Economic Potential of Uzbekistan" was demonstrated, dedicated to contemporary socio-political and economic development of Uzbekistan.
As a result of the event, bilateral negotiations were organized with representatives of a number of South Korean companies on the possible implementation of promising investment projects in Uzbekistan, further increasing production capacity, attracting modern technologies and know-how, infrastructure development, privatization and other issues.
