Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Law enforcement bodies of Uzbekistan prevented an attempt to smuggle 6 gold ingots abroad.
A resident of the village of Vuadil of Fergana region Akbarjon Turaev was detained during attempt to hand over 6 ingots of gold to a resident of the village Yoshlarobod in neighboring state Nodirjon Karimov.
Total weight of ingots is 4 kg and 778 grams. Total value of seized jewelry exceeds 1.55 billion soums.
During the investigation, it was established that the detainees planned to hand over the precious cargo to a resident of Kyrgyzstan, Shukurjon Khalmiddinov.
At present, the Office of the National Security Service for Fergana region launched a criminal investigation under the relevant article of the Criminal Code.
