IUT and Curtin University establish academic and research cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) and Curtin University (Australia) agreed to establish cooperation in development of education and research in the field of information technology.
IUT and Curtin University signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the development of research collaboration in the field of globally competitive information technology.
Rector of Inha University in Tashkent Sarvar Babakhodjaev said: “We are pleased to cooperate with one of Australia’s leading universities. In line with the Memorandum, the universities intend to implement joint research, training and development projects.
“The sides also plan to organize exchange of students and teachers to undergo training. In particular, students of Inha University in Tashkent will have an opportunity to undertake study in Master’s degree and PhD programs at Curtin University,” Sarvar Babakhodjaev said. “The parties intend to open a “1+1” Master’s degree program, within which students will study for a year at IUT and a year at Curtin University.
“One of the important areas of cooperation between IUT and Curtin University will be joint research in areas such as computational physics, nuclear and astrophysics, computing science and information technologies and others,” IUT Rector stressed.
Inha University in Tashkent in cooperation with the Australian partner will invite professors of Curtin University to teach Master Degree courses in Uzbekistan.
Currently, Inha University in Tashkent is working on establishing an International Innovation Center for Physics and Technology Research. The center should become a key platform for implementation of various projects in collaboration with Curtin University and other world leading universities.
Curtin University is one of the leading universities in Australia. Curtin is currently ranked in the top one per cent of universities worldwide in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2017. Curtin provides a global education and has partnerships with institutions in 20 countries. Based in Perth, Western Australia, Curtin University has additional campuses in Malaysia, Singapore and United Arab Emirates. Curtin is the largest university in Western Australia, with about 58 000 students, with nearly 40% of them being international. Curtin University offers more than 100 courses across science and engineering including information technology, health sciences, business and humanities. Curtin’s research strengths are focused in minerals and energy, information, computer and emerging technologies, health and sustainable development.
