Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of resident population of Uzbekistan as of 1 October 2017, according to the preliminary data, was 32.511 million and increased compared to the beginning of 2017 by 391,400 or 1.2%.
According to the State Statistics Committee, number of urban population was 16.452 million (or 50.6% of total population) and rural population – 16.06 million (49.4%).
In January-September 2017, number of births was 523,600 and in comparison with January-September 2016 (532,400) decreased by 8,800, and respectively, the birth rate was 21,7 per mille.
The most significant decrease in birth rate was observed in Khorezm region (from 20.7 per mille to 19.5 per mille), Bukhara region (from 20.6 per mille to 19.5 per mille), Ferghana region (from 21.9 per mille to 20.8 per mille), Tashkent region (from 20.2 per mille to 19.2 per mille), Kashkadarya region (from 24.7 per mille to 23.8 per mille), Namangan region (from 23.5 per mille to 22.6 per mille), Andijan region (from 22.9 per mille to 22.1 per mille), Navoi region (from 22.3 per mille to 21.7 per mille), and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (from 20.7 per mille to 19.5 per mille).
In January-September 2017, number of deaths was 116,900 and in comparison with January- September 2016 (108,900) increased by 8,000, and respectively, the death rate was 4.8 per mille (in January-September 2016 – 4.6 per mille).
The significant growth in the death rate was marked in Andijan region (from 4.8 per mille to 5.3 per mille), Namangan region (from 4.3 per mille to 4.8 per mille), Jizzakh region (from 3.9 per mille to 4.3 per mille), Surkhandarya region (from 4 per mille to 4.4 per mille), Ferghana region (from 4.5 per mille to 4.9 per mille), Kashkadarya region (from 3.8 per mille to 4.1 per mille), Navoi region (from 4.5 per mille to 4.7 per mille), Syrdarya (from 4.7 per mille to 4.9 per mille), Khorezm region (from 4.3 per mille to 4.5 per mille), and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (from 4.4 per mille to 4.6 per mille).
The lowest morbidity level is marked in Kashkadarya region (4.1 per mille), Bukhara region (4.3 per mille), Jizzakh region (4.3 per mille), and Samarkand region (4.3 per mille).
In the structure of total deaths cardiovascular diseases make up 60.5%, neoplasms – 9.2%, accidents, poisonings and traumas – 6.2%, diseases of digestive organs – 5.6%, respiratory diseases – 4.9%, infectious and parasitic diseases – 1.7%, other diseases – 11.9%.
According to the preliminary data, 95 maternal deaths were recorded in January- September 2017, the maternal mortality ratio was 18.1 per mille (per 100,000 live births). The high maternal mortality rate was marked in Navoi region – 32.5 (per 100,000 live births), Tashkent region – 27, Jizzakh region – 25.8 , Samarkand region – 22.9 and Syrdarya – 22.7.
In January-September 2017, according to the preliminary data, 6,100 children died at the age under one year. The infant mortality rate was 11.2 per mille (in January-September 2016 – 10.2 per mille). The high infant mortality rates were marked in Tashkent city– 17.9 (per 1,000 live births), Khorezm region – 16, Andijan region – 15.6, Namangan region – 14.2, Jizzakh region – 14.1, Syrdarya region – 13.7, and the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 15.
Of total number of children who died at the age under 1 year, 57.4% died of states occurring in perinatal period, 21.6% – respiratory diseases, 11.4% – congenital anomalies, 3.1% – infectious and parasitic diseases, 1.6% – from accidents, poisoning and injuries, 0.4% – diseases of the digestive organs, 4.5% – other diseases.
In January-September 2017, 192,700 marriages and 23,600 divorces were registered. There were 8 marriages (in January-September 2016 – 7.4 marriages) and 1 divorce (in January-September 2016 – 0.9 divorce) per 1,000 population.
According to the preliminary data, in January-September 2017, the number of immigrants was 120,800 persons and that of emigrants – 136,100 persons. Balance of migration was minus 15,300 persons versus minus 20,700 persons compared to the same period of 2016.
The most negative migration balance was observed in Tashkent region (- 4.8), Samarkand region (- 3.9), Kashkadarya region (- 3.4), Ferghana region (- 2), Bukhara region (- 1.8), Andijan region (- 1.5), and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (- 3.4). The positive migration balance was marked in Tashkent city (+ 10.8).
