Emergency Ministry denies spread of foot and mouth disease in Tashkent region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan denied reports of foreign media on spread of foot and mouth disease in among domestic cattle in the village of Yangi Hayot in Akhangaran district of Tashkent region.
The Uzbek ministry said that the group of veterinary service and the Emergency Ministry visited Yangi Hayot village to study situation.
During the study, it was revealed that there were no clinical signs of foot and mouth diseases among cattle. The samples were taken to conduct laboratory researches.
The Uzbek Emergency said that the specialists also communication with the citizens and revealed that there were no case of spread or death of animals from foot and mouth disease.
State Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management purchased over 4.5 million doses of vaccines against foot and mouth disease. All large cattle in buffer zones of Uzbekistan were vaccinated against the foot and mouth disease.
Emergency Ministry said that epizootic situation in Uzbekistan is favorable.
