President acquaints with construction of Ice Palace in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site of the multifunctional Ice Palace in Tashkent city on 3 February 2017.
The Ice Palace is constructed at intersection of the Afrosiyob and Beshyogoch streets. The palace is constructed on initiative of the Uzbek leader. The building will be in form of Humo bird – symbol of happiness and freedom.
Four-storeyed Ice Palace with the area of 74,000 square meters will include two complexes – training and main ice ranks with the area of 60x30 meters.
The hall can accept 14,000 people. The seats in the hall can be moved. The hall can be used as concert hall with some 10,000 seats.
The complex can host hockey, short-track, figure skating, curling. In addition, the complex can be used to organize the basketball, volleyball, handball, futsal, boxing, taekwondo and other sport tournaments. In addition, the complex will be able to hold concerts, exhibitions and forums.
Four-storeyed parking site will be constructed near the complex, which will be launched in 2018.
