IMF improves its forecast on economic growth of Uzbekistan in 2016-2017

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised its forecast on the growth of gross domestic product of Uzbekistan in 2016 by one percentage point.
According to October report “World Economic Outlook”, the growth of economy of Uzbekistan make up 6% in 2016. Earlier, the fund projected 5% GDP growth in 2016.
IMF specialists forecasted that GDP of Uzbekistan will grow by 6% in 2017 as well. IMF earlier forecasted that Uzbekistan’s economy will grow by 5.5% in 2017.
The fund said that realization of programmes on modernization of industry and infrastructure will allow to keep economic growth in Uzbekistan, while unfavorable prices to main export items can impact to economic figures.
Inflation level in Uzbekistan will make up 8% in 2016 and 9.8% in 2017, the report of the IMF said.
Current account balance in 2016 will be at the level of 0.1% to GDP of Uzbekistan and 0.2% in 2017.
