Food industry of Uzbekistan manufactures goods for 10.11 trln. soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of production of food industry made up 10.114 trillion soums in nine months of 2015, which rose by 16.7% year-on-year.
Share of the industry in total industrial output of Uzbekistan reached 16.3% in January-September 2015 against 15.1% in the same period of 2014, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee said.
Sugar enterprises increased production by 1.5 times, fish industry – 14%, meat and milk industry – 12.5%, fruits and vegetables – 4.2%, alcohol beverages -4%, wine – 3.3% and oil-fat – 1.2%.
Uzbekistan increased production tinned meat – 6.4 times, canned cereal - 1.6 times, powdered milk for baby food - in 1.6 times, treacle (molasses) - in 1.6 times, sugar- 41.3%, tea - 35.6%, margarine and spreads - by 47.2%, butter - by 11.4%, fresh and chilled meat - by 8.5%, processed liquid milk- by 11.0%, wheat bread - by 9.2%, and other bakery products - 14.9%, jams and jelly - in 2.2 times.
At the same time, the country recorded growth of production of beer (+4.6%), sweet grape wine (+9.4%), alcohol tinctures (+ 13.1%).
The largest volume of industrial products manufactured by enterprises of Tashkent (24.3% of total industry) and Tashkent region (20.8%), Samarkand (13.3%) region.
Small businesses of Uzbekistan increased production by 13.2% in the reporting period and they accounted 63.2% of total production of the food industry.
During nine months of 2015, about 1,135 enterprises were created in food industry and their total number reached 8,424 companies.
