EEU and Uzbekistan to hold consultations on free trade zone

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Uzbekistan will hold consultation on beginning of negotiations of creating free trade zone, the Russian President Vladimir Putin stated after negotiations with the Uzbek President Islam Karimov said.
On the invitation of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin arrived in Uzbekistan with an official visit on 10 December.
Putin said that leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia reached agreement that the sides will start consultation on possible signing of the agreement between Uzbekistan and EEU on free trade zone.
The Eurasian Economic Union is a political and economic union which was established by a treaty signed on 29 May 2014 between the leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia. A treaty to enlarge the EEU to Armenia was signed on 9 October 2014.
