Uzmetkombinat finishes construction of facility for vacuuming liquid steel

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Open joint stock company “Uzbek Metallurgy Combine” (Uzmetkombinat) completed implementation an investment project “Expanding production capacities with construction of facility for vacuuming liquid steel with reconstruction of the unit on complex processing of steel”.
The project cost is US$17.094 million. The modernization envisaged construction of facility for vacuuming liquid steel “on turnkey bases” with the capacity of 150,000 tonnes of liquid steel a year. Within the project, the facility of complex steel processing was also reconstructed.
Romania’s Adrem Invest supplied equipment within the project. The sum of contract with Adrem Invest was US$13.1 million.
The project was financed due to own resources of Uzmetkombinat for US$8.1 million and loan of the Ipoteka Bank for US$9 million.
The construction of the facility for vacuuming liquid steel was carried out within preparation to implementation of other project – launch of production of seamless hot-deformed steel pipes with the capacity of 100,000 tonnes a year. The project cost is US$240,000.
