Number of cattle in Uzbekistan makes up 10.3m heads

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of cattle in Uzbekistan reached 10.3 million heads in the first half of 2013, which rose by 5.1% year-on-year, the publication of the Ministry of Economy and the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Uzbekistan created new gardens at 4,900 hectares, intensive gardens at 3,300 hectares, vineyards at 4,800 hectares. Uzbekistan reconstructed 5,700 hectares of gardens and 3,800 hectares of vineyards. The country created 22,700 greenhouses with total area of 384 hectares.
In the first half of 2013, the commercial banks issued 110.2 billion soums to development of animal husbandry, 45.4 billion soums to creation of poultry farms and 15.3 billion soums to develop fishery and beekeeping.
In the reporting period, 1,138 cattle farms with 38,000 heads of cattle were created in Uzbekistan, 592 poultry farms with 4.5 million birds, 601 fish farms at 3,400 hectares of artificial water reservoirs, and 1,428 beekeeping farms.
Number of cattle reached 10.3 million heads (+5.1%). Production of meats reached 831,700 tonnes of meat (+7%), 3.4 million tonnes of milk (+7.1%), 2.3 million units of eggs (+16.9%), 2.2 million tonnes of vegetables (+14.2%), 1.1 million tonnes of potatoes (+11.9%), 135,700 tonnes of melons (+12.3%), 710,700 tonnes of fruits (+10.6%) and 19,900 tonnes of grapes (+12.7%).
Uzbekistan processed 192,300 tonnes of fruit and vegetables in the reporting period, which grew by 8.3% year-on-year, including114,200 tonnes of vegetables and 78,100 tonnes of fruits.
